Lytes Cary Shop - Equinox - 2026
From 28th February to 12th March 2026
A display of artwork exploring balance. The equinox when dark and light are balanced, the shadows and twilight either side in the morning and evening, the sunsets and sunrise, demise and hope in the future. A series of acrylic paintings set the scene with images of Somerset also depicted in linocuts and watercolour to express the mood and feeling of the changes taking place. Images also used as motifs in the description of natural forms found in woodland, fields and the land. Ceramics with patterns derived from trees, leaves, seeds, plants and flowers and prints illustrating scenes of Lytes Cary and natural forms. Some pottery displayed with other materials: wood in the form of mats, trays, plinths and boxes, Somerset Ham stone, stitched together to support and raise a pot from the surface or to explore the interaction, balance and harmony between the 'ground' and a form.
